TORONTO -- Some call it the Ed-wing. Others describe it as taking the parrot for a walk. When Edwin Encarnacion rounds first base on his home run trot, he raises his right arm slightly and sticks out his elbow. It has become a very familiar sight during the Blue Jays season-high eight-game winning streak. The Toronto slugger homered for the third straight game as the Blue Jays outscored the Tampa Bay Rays 9-6 on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre. Encarnacion hit one of three Toronto homers and starter Mark Buehrle picked up his major league-leading ninth victory for the American League East division leaders. Encarnacion, who has hit 14 of his 16 homers in May, also tied Jose Bautistas club record for most homers in a month set back in June 2012. "You cant describe it," said Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. "Ive been seeing that parrot a lot, thats for sure." Adam Lind and Juan Francisco also went deep for the Blue Jays, who outhit the Rays 13-12. Toronto has won 13 of its last 15 games and 18 of 23. "Theyre no fun right now," said Rays manager Joe Maddon. "Everything theyve got going on right now seems to be working." Buehrle (9-1), meanwhile, allowed eight hits and three earned runs over 6 2/3 innings. He wasnt as sharp as previous starts but kept the damage to a minimum. Lind and Encarnacion hit back-to-back shots in Torontos four-run fifth inning. "Everybodys having fun," Encarnacion said. "You can see it on their faces. Were playing great baseball when were on the field. So I think thats the No. 1 thing weve been doing. "Playing great baseball, playing the best baseball and enjoying it, enjoying the game." Linds homer was a two-run blast and Encarnacion followed with a monster shot that landed just above the second deck inside the left-field foul pole. Francisco added a solo shot in the seventh and Casey Janssen worked the ninth inning for his eighth save as Tampa Bay (23-30) lost its second straight game. Toronto (31-22) will go for the sweep of the three-game series on Wednesday night. "Just this offence and the way the guys are swinging the bat, it seems like the pitching - everything is coming together," Buehrle said. Both Buehrle and Tampa Bay starter Alex Cobb (1-2) were quick and efficient over the first three innings. The Rays scored a pair in the top half of the fourth and the Jays answered with two runs of their own in the bottom half. Toronto went to work in the fifth after Jose Reyes lashed a ball back to the mound that hit Cobb on his right side near the waist. Cobb stayed in but struggled through the rest of the frame, giving up an RBI single to Bautista before the back-to-back homers. "Id love to blame it on something but honestly it was really good hitters hitting good pitches," Cobb said. The Blue Jays tacked on two more runs in the sixth and a single run in the seventh. "It was one of those games that didnt feel good even until the end," Gibbons said. "We opened up the lead a little bit and then they tacked on a few runs to pull to within three. It definitely wasnt a comfortable game. "But when you fall behind, I mean were confident right now. Were really confident." Buehrle, who received a standing ovation after he was pulled, walked a batter and struck out three. Cobb allowed nine hits, six earned runs and a walk over five innings while striking out seven. His earned-run average jumped from 1.40 to 2.93. "I thought Cobb had really good stuff tonight, not pedestrian by any means," Maddon said. "He was really good, moving along really nicely and all of a sudden they struck." Notes: Announced attendance was 15,993 and the game took three hours to play. ... It was the fourth time this season that the Blue Jays have hit back-to-back home runs. Lind has three homers on the season while Francisco has nine. ... Toronto has hit at least one homer in 10 straight games. ... The Blue Jays longest winning streak before this was an 11-gamer last June. ... Gibbons challenged a call in the third inning when first-base umpire ruled that Yunel Escobar was safe. After a review of just 40 seconds, the call was overturned and Escobar was ruled out, making it a 4-6-3 double play. ... Navarro showed his mettle in the third inning. He was struck on his catching hand by Jose Molinas bat on an awkward follow-through and then took a foul tip to his right arm later in the at-bat. He said he bruised a finger and expects to play the series finale. ... Liam Hendriks (1-0) is scheduled to start Wednesday against Tampa Bays Chris Archer (3-2). ... The Blue Jays will complete the 10-game homestand later this week with a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals. Shkodran Mustafi Jersey . He left in the 4th inning of Saturdays game against the Tigers after experiencing tightness. Reyes and the team still hope that he will be ready for Opening Day in Tampa Bay in one week. Ainsley Maitland-Niles Jersey . Poti played in 824 regular NHL games with four teams in his career; the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals. http://www.arsenalsoccerpro.com/Authentic-Mohamed-Elneny-Arsenal-Jersey/.com) - Patrik Elias registered the winner in the shootout as New Jersey nipped Toronto 2-1 at Prudential Center on Wednesday. Joel Campbell Jersey . So much so that even a simple foul pop up to the first baseman turned into a run. Houstons four-run rally in the ninth inning to beat the Seattle Mariners 6-4 on Monday night was capped by a bizarre play that started as Crowe fouled out to first baseman Justin Smoak with runners on second and third. Laurent Koscielny Jersey . The top-ranked Spaniard won his fourth Madrid Open on Sunday after Kei Nishikori was forced to withdraw with a hip injury when trailing 2-6, 6-4, 3-0 in the final. And Nadal, who is coming off to uncharacteristic quarterfinal losses on clay, said his mental strength is still lacking just two weeks ahead of the French Open.SHANGHAI - Graeme McDowell likes a tough golf course, and Sheshan International was perfect for him Thursday. He opened with seven birdies in 12 holes and then hung on for a 5-under 67 that gave him a two-shot lead after one round of the HSBC Champions. In the 10th year of this tournament, the golf course was tougher than ever with ankle-deep rough and fairways that are not nearly as wide. That didnt seem to bother McDowell, who only once had to contend with the thick grass.A big key to this golf course is driving the ball well. I drove it very well today, McDowell said. And the greens are in fantastic shape, and I actually putted very well. Dropped a couple coming in, but all in all, very pleased with 5-under par on what I thought was a reasonably tricky day.Rickie Fowler also got off to a fast start before he settled down for a 69, joining a group that included U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer, Brandt Snedeker, Tim Clark, Chris Kirk and Tommy Fleetwood. The wind was strong and out of the opposite direction, which added to the demanding conditions.Jordan Spieth began his new PGA Tour season with two straight bogeys and had to save par with a long bunker shot on his third hole. He scratched his way back and wound up in a large group at 70 that featured Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson. It didnt take much for players to get going in the wrong direction.FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel made a pair of double bogeys, only one birdie and shot an 80.This is a top event — some of the best players in the world, probably the best field youre going to get in Asia, and you dont want it to be a pushover, Fowler said. You want a good, solid test. And its showing that.Only 27 players in the 78-man field broke par, compared with 37 players under par on the first day last year when the winning score was 24-under 264. McDowell said he wouldnt be surprised to see something about 12 under win, even if the wind relents. Some players like Fowler and Spieth had limited expectations having not played since the Ryder Cup. McDowell, meanwhile, has played twice since the Ryder Cup, including a tie for 16th a week ago at the BMW Masters.Even so, the strong start surprised hhim.ddddddddddddHe ran off four birdies in a five-hole stretch on the back nine, capping it off by driving the reachable 16th green and two-putting from 15 feet, and then holing a 45-foot birdie across the green on the par-3 17th. Two quick birdies after making the turn and he was at 7 under and on verge of running away from the field. But he made his first bogey on the par-3 fourth, which played into the wind. And on the one hole he tried to play it safe off the tee, it cost him. McDowell opted for 3-wood on the 603-yard eighth hole to keep it short of the bunker. He wound up in grass so thick he could only hit 8-iron for his second shot, and then he still had 215 yards left for his third. He pulled a 4-iron into the rough and failed to get up-and-down.I didnt need a leaderboard to let me know that 7 under through 12 is fairly strong, McDowell said. There were some tricky holes on the front nine. I made a couple of putts I should have in the first 12 holes, and then I made a couple of bogeys that I shouldnt have coming in. All in all, I think 5 under was a fair representation of my round.Snedeker also did a good job keeping the ball in play. He had high expectations for the week, even though he might get the prize for having travelled the longest — or at least the most — to get to Shanghai. His plan was to play Japan, Malaysia and China. But he withdrew from the Bridgestone Open when he felt something wrong with his stomach, flew home to Tennessee during the week of Malaysia to get it checked out, then flew back to Asia for the final World Golf Championship of the year.At least for one day, it was worth the trip.DIVOTS: Graham DeLaet had to withdraw after a 45 on nine holes because of a neck injury. The Canadian also withdrew from Malaysia last week with a sore neck. ... Kevin Stadler withdrew after two holes with a wrist injury. ... Jason Dufner had one moment when his body was in China and his head was still in Malaysia. Players were allowed to lift, clean and place their balls last week in soggy Malaysia. Dufner instinctively picked up his ball in the 18th fairway, a one-shot penalty. He had a 72. Just one of those things, Dufner said with a shrug.
